What is the difference between my spend limit and spend cap?
Your spend limit is set by Clearpay and is the maximum amount you’ve been approved to spend. This is shown as an available to spend amount in your Account and this amount can increase and decrease over time depending on your payment history and how you use your account. You can find out more here.
Our in-app spend cap feature lets you cap what you can spend with Clearpay (minimum £100) and can be adjusted or removed whenever you need.
How do I add a spend cap?
To add or update your spend cap:
- Open your Clearpay app and navigate to Settings by clicking the
button. Tap Spend cap.
- You will be prompted with a screen which displays the minimum and maximum spend cap. Enter in an amount below your maximum spend limit and the minimum of £100.
- Tap Set spend cap.
Note: Your maximum spend cap will never be more than the available to spend balance shown in your Account. If the amount you owe is higher than your spend cap, your available to spend balance will show up as £0.

Looking to reduce your spend limit?
