To help with this, we limit Clearpay to people who are 18 years or older and who are genuinely committed to working with us to plan, book, buy and pay responsibly.
To protect your privacy and security and comply with regulatory requirements, we need to verify your identity when you sign up to Clearpay. We are supported by third party identification verification providers who confirm the personal information you provide us matches what they have on file about you. This check is invisible to other lenders and doesn't affect your credit score. This information is lawfully sourced from third party sources. You will be notified about our practices through the signup process and in our Privacy Policy. All personal information you provide in the verification process will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

The following lists defines the acceptable document types that can be used to verify your identity:
List A
Government-issued ID with a full name, photograph, and either an address or date of birth
- Driver’s Licence (Front & Back)
- Passport
- National Identity Card
List B
Government, court, or local authority issued ID with a full name but no photograph
- Birth Certificate
- Change of Dipole Document/Deed Poll/Certificate of Name Change
- Marriage Certificate
- A valid (old style) full UK Driver’s Licence
- Recent documentation showing entitlement to a government benefit (such as housing benefit), tax credit, pension, educational, or other grant
- A current council tax demand letter or statement
List C
Government-issued or issued by a judicial authority, a public sector body, a regulated utility company, or another FCA-regulated firm within the UK financial services sector, with a full name and either an address or date of birth

Acceptance Criteria
The following list shows the acceptable document combinations required for a successful verification. Any combination not listed is not acceptable.
- 1 document from List A; OR
- 1 document from List B + 1 document from List C
Has your name changed?
If your name has changed, we will require 1 document from List A and 1 document from List B explaining the name change.
